Subject: Cold Rooms in Our Hall
I am writing to inform you that the heaters in all the rooms in my hall do not work properly, and so our rooms are uncomfortably cold. My room has been cold all semester, and I know from talking with the other girls that theirs are too. The hallway heating is working, as it is warm and much pleasanter out there than our rooms.
My roommate and I played around for a while with the heating vent, thinking maybe it was user error. But we realized that nothing we could do was making a difference. Eventually, my roommate closed the vent because she felt the air being blown in was cold. This presents a lot of problems- from making hard to study in the room, to making it harder to get up in the morning and out from under the covers (as if we needed that part of the day to get any harder!) We have to bundle up in our rooms, and use several blankets to stay warm. A simple first step in getting this fixed would be getting someone to look at it and see what the problem is.
Thank you for considering this problem of the lack of heat in our hall, as it affects a lot of people.
Sincerely,
Clara

Hello,
I really liked your memo! I can relate to the whole heater situation since when I was in Edwards my freshman year, I also had a heater not working so the winter time was a bit rough! Great structure for a memo and I enjoyed reading your post!
